Jessica Méndez-Colberg, Esq. is the founder, CEO, and Lead Advisor at Student Loan Advisors PR, dedicated to providing specialized guidance on student loans matters. With over a decade of experience in consumer and labor law, I focus on empowering individuals, small businesses and entrepreneurs through financial and strategic planning. <br><br>She has a Juris Doctor and an MBA from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, Summa Cum Laude. She is also a certified Conflict Mediator, and is admitted to practice in the federal court for the District of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.<br><br>Her past experience includes civil litigation with an emphasis on labor rights, consumer protection, and bankruptcy law. Also, she has been actively involved in litigation related to the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act (PROMESA), advocating for unions, retirement systems and other disadvantaged groups. On October 2019, she presented oral arguments before the Supreme Court of the United States, becoming the first and youngest Puerto Rican woman to do so.<br><br>She also contributes with legal writing and local newspapers, focusing on her experience advising on student loan matters, labor laws, consumer protection and other social justice issues. As a pro-bono speaker, she support and empower women entrepreneurs through the Center for Puerto Rico, Sila M. Calderón Foundation. Additionally, she has served as a Delegate from Ponce on the Puerto Rico Bar Association&#39;s governing board for the past eight years, actively participating in various commissions as well.
