Holly Teeter

Hon. Holly L. Teeter is a U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Kansas in Topeka, appointed inAugust 2018. Following law school, she worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos,N.M., doing patent prosecution work before returning to Kansas City to practice patent law at Shook,Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. Judge Teeter subsequently left private practice and clerked for the Hon. Carlos Murguia in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, then for Hon. Brian C. Wimes in the U.S.District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Most recently, she served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Missouri. Judge Teeter earned a chemical engineering degree with highest distinction from the University of Kansas, a diploma in legal studies from the University of Oxford, and her J.D. from the University of Kansas, where she graduated first in her class.
