Geoffrey D. Simms

Geoffrey D. Simms, CFA, CPA (Canada) is the CEO and Founder of AJCapital in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has more than 30 years of experience in finance, restructuring and strategy in Asia Pacific. He has been involved in the banking and finance, telecom, petrochemical, property and resource sectors. Ms. Simms has been active in debt and corporate restructurings in Indonesia, managing numerous court- supervised processes as well voluntary out-of-court processes (PKPU). Such work included PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama, PT Bumi Resources Tbk and PT Ciputra Developments Tbk. He also advised the Indonesian Debt Restructuring Agency on the disposal of NPL portfolios, and has conducted a number forensic assignments. Among his other assignments, Mr. Simms has advised on more than US$4 billion in debt and corporate restructurings in the petrochemical sector in Indonesia, advised on over US$13 billion in PKPU debt-restructuring proceedings in Indonesia, advised on more than US$9 billion in M&A transactions in Indonesia, including lead partner advising PT Pertamina (Persero) on M&A transactions in the gas and petrochemical sector, handled development and project management of a roll-up strategy in the telecommunications tower sector funded by a major international PE fund, advised on the first U.S. SEC-registered and NASDAQ-listed Indonesian public company, and handled numerous domestic and overseas bond issuances, including some of the first Yankee and SEC registered transactions out of Indonesia. He is a Fellow in INSOL International and a foundering board member of the Indonesian CFA Society. Mr Simms received his Bachelor’s degree in commerce from the Univer- sity of British Columbia and his M.B.A. from Kellog-HKUST.
