Erica J. Goodstein

Erica J. Goodstein is assistant general counsel at American Stock Transfer & Trust Co., LLC in Brook- lyn, N.Y., (AST), a provider of registry services and technology to financial market participants that, together with its affiliates, comprise the AST Group. She has been practicing commercial and securities law for more than 16 years. Ms. Goodstein began her career in 1999 at Skadden Arps Meagher Slate & Flom, LLP, where she practiced general commercial litigation with a focus on securities law, represent- ing banks in mortgage-backed securities litigation, in addition to representing diverse foreign companies in international arbitration. After leaving Skadden in 2013, she went in-house and joined AST, where her practice includes all aspects of commercial and transactional law in addition to managing the company's litigation, indenture trustee and insolvency matters including, most recently, the bankruptcy of Energy Future Holdings in AST's capacity as successor trustee and a member of a committee of unsecured         creditors in what is the largest failed LBO in U.S. history. Ms. Goodstein received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was an editor of the NYU Law Review and interned for the  U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York.
