April A. Wimberg is a partner in the Restructuring Group at Dentons in Louisville, Ky., and chairs the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. With a focus on commercial and bankruptcy litigation, her representations include creditors, committees, debtors, trustees and other interested parties involved in litigation arising out of corporate insolvencies. Ms. Wimberg has experience representing clients in distressed situations worldwide. She has represented debtors in chapter 15 filings, foreign creditors in chapter 11 proceedings, and foreign buyers of debtor assets. In<br>addition, she has served in a variety of government positions, including city attorney and commissioner for the Executive Branch Ethics Commission for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Ms. Wimberg is a former co-chair of ABI’s Commercial and Regulatory Law Committee. Prior to joining the firm, she spent 10 years working on Wall Street and in corporate strategy for Fortune 50 companies, where she gained experience in reviewing loan transactions and identifying business issues in litigation and opportunities with distressed assets. She has assisted companies across the globe with a wide range of business services and also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the small business enterprises group in West Africa. Ms. Wimberg received her B.A. in political science in 2000 from the University of Kentucky and her J.D. in 2013 from the University of Louisville.
