Laura J. Genovich
Laura J. Genovich is a shareholder in the Grand Rapids, Mich., office of Foster Swift Collins & SmithPC. She serves as a chapter 7 and 12 bankruptcy trustee, and also represents other trustees and creditors in bankruptcy cases. In addition to her bankruptcy work, Ms. Genovich handles trial-level and appellate litigation, and represents municipalities across Michigan in litigation and transactional matters. She co-authors a blog that reports on recent cases from Michigan’s bankruptcy courts (www.michbankrupt-cyblog.com), and she has taught bankruptcy law as an adjunct professor at WMU Cooley Law School.In addition, she is the past chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Bankruptcy Section of theFederal Bar Association (W.D. Mich.). Ms. Genovich received her B.S. summa cum laude in 2005 in communications from Ohio University and her J.D. summa cum laude in 2008 from Thomas M. CooleyLaw School.
