Spencer M. Ware

Spencer M. Ware, CTP, CIRA is a managing director with RIVERON Consulting LLP in New York and leads its retail industry vertical. He has more than 20 years of experience in corporate turnaround and restructuring. Mr. Ware’s work as CRO at Eastern Outfitters was recognized by The M&A Advisor andTurnaround Atlas, and he received the Turnaround Management Association’s Mid-Sized Transaction of the Year Award. He is an honoree of ABI’s “40 Under 40” program and received leadership awards from the New York Institute of Credit and The M&A Advisor. As a leader of domestic and international teams, Mr. Ware has represented and negotiated with diverse key stakeholder groups, including corporations, JVs, boards, senior executives and creditors ranging from lenders to suppliers. He has served in a number of executive roles, including co-CEO and CRO of BH Cosmetics, CRO of Eastern MountainSports and Bob Stores, and treasurer at JC Penney’s. In addition, Mr. Ware has experience in financial analysis, including strategic business planning, liquidity analysis, recapitalization efforts including covenant negotiations, and in-court and out-of-court restructurings. He received his B.A. in economics from Haverford College and completed coursework at the London School of Economics.
