Michael M. Lauter
Michael M. Lauter is a partner in the Finance and Bankruptcy Practice Group in the San Francisco of- fice of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, where he specializes in bankruptcy, creditors' rights, receiverships, workouts and foreclosures. His practice includes representing debtors, creditors and com- mittees in bankruptcy; lenders and special servicers in workouts, foreclosures and receiverships; and state and federal court receivers. He also has significant experience representing lenders in real estate and asset-based financings, as well as representing buyers in real estate purchases and sales. Mr. Lauter is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is listed in Legal 500 for 2013 and 2015 in the Corporate Restructuring category, and as a "Northern California Rising Star" in Super Lawyers from 2013-15. Mr. Lauter received his B.A. Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California - Berkeley in 2001 and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2006.
