David C. Smith, Esq.

David C. Smith is a professor of commerce at the University of Virginia and director of the McIn- tire Center for Financial Innovation in Charlottesville, Va. He is an expert on matters related to corporate valuation, corporate bankruptcy, leveraged credit and distressed-debt trading, and he has presented his research at universities and conferences around the world and published in leading academic journals. Prof. Smith teaches corporate valuation and corporate restructuring to undergraduates and M.B.A. stu- dents. Prior to joining the University of Virginia, he was an economist in the International Finance Divi- sion of the Federal Reserve Board. Prof. Smith received his Ph.D. in finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
