Abbye Atkinson

Prof. Abbye Atkinson is an assistant professor of law at the University of California, BerkeleySchool of Law in Berkeley, Calif. Her research focuses on the law of debtors and creditors as it affects economically disenfranchised communities. Her work is forthcoming in the Columbia LawReview, and has been published in the Stanford Law Review, Vanderbilt Law Review, Arizona LawReview and Michigan Journal of Race and Law. Before joining Berkeley Law, Prof. Atkinson was a Thomas C. Grey Fellow and Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School and the Reginald F. LewisFellow at Harvard Law School. She also worked as an associate in the San Francisco office of Gib-son, Dunn & Crutcher, and she clerked for both Hon. Ronald M. Gould of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Hon. Marilyn Hall Patel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Prof. Atkinson received her undergraduate degree from the University of California,Berkeley and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
