Raymond J. Pikna, Jr.
Raymond J. Pikna, Jr. is an attorney with the Cincinnati law firm of Wood & Lamping LLP, where he practices in the firm’s Litigation, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights, and Business practice groups. He has more than 35 years of legal experience representing clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts in commercial litigation and in all aspects of bankruptcy cases and adversary proceedings,<br>with an emphasis in the representation of parties in chapter 11 reorganization cases and workouts. His clients in chapter 11 cases have included debtors in possession in a wide variety of industries, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, federal and state governmental units, and bankruptcy trustees. Mr. Pikna began his career as a law clerk for Hon. D.J. Kelleher, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Ohio, when the Bankruptcy Code first became effective. He appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court to argue United States v. Noland, 517 U.S. 535 (1996), and he is a frequent speaker<br>on bankruptcy topics at CLE programs throughout Ohio. He has served on the advisory board for ABI’s Midwest Regional Bankruptcy Seminar. Mr. Pikna formerly served on the Advisory Committee for the Local Bankruptcy Rules for the Southern District of Ohio, as chair of the Bankruptcy Committees of the Dayton and Cincinnati Bar Associations, as trustee of the Thomas F. Waldron American Bankruptcy<br>Law Forum, and as a director and as legal counsel for the University of Notre Dame Monogram Club. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
