Graham H. Stieglitz
Graham H. Stieglitz is a partner in the Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy group of Burr & Forman LLP inAtlanta, where his practice encompasses a broad range of bankruptcy, restructuring and corporate matters with a focus on litigation, distressed M&A transactions, and representing lenders in a connection with commercial workouts and restructurings. He has represented debtors, trustees, receivers, unsecured and secured creditors in chapter 11 cases, and federal and state court receiverships and foreclosures. He also has represented commercial lessors and lessees, financial institutions, receivers, special servicers, and commercial lenders in bankruptcy cases and structured loan workouts. Due to his substantial creditors’ rights experience, Mr. Stieglitz frequently advises clients on insolvency issues, such as bankruptcy-remote structures and preference and fraudulent transfer analysis, arising in connection with business and financial transactions, and he provides legal opinions on bankruptcy-related issues, such as substantive consolidation. His practice in Commercial & Corporate Finance focuses on representing banks and finance companies in various finance transactions in the mid-sized and large corporate markets. Mr.Stieglitz has experience with real estate finance, accounts receivable and inventory finance, mezzanine finance, cash-flow finance, health care finance, equipment finance and debtor-in-possession finance. He was honored in 2013 with the “Restructuring Deal of the Year between $10 million and $100 million” for his involvement in the receivership and sale of Turkington Industries/Turkington USA, LLC. Mr.Stieglitz is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, and he has been recognized for Bankruptcy/Restructuring since 2011 in Chambers USA and for Creditor/Debtor Rights from 2016-21 in GeorgiaSuper Lawyers, among other honors. He is also a frequent writer and speaker on insolvency matters. Mr.Stieglitz received his B.A. in 1995 in economics from Washington University in St. Louis, his J.D. in1999 from Georgia State University School of Law and his LL.M. in bankruptcy in 2000 from St. John’sUniversity School of Law.
