Robert W. Jones

Robert W. Jones is a partner with Holland & Knight LLP in Dallas and practices in the area of restruc- turing and bankruptcy. He has counseled clients throughout the U.S. with a focus on secured lenders and other financial institutions, on matters in the oil and gas industry involving distressed debt, debt restruc- turing, debtor-in-possession or exit financing in bankruptcies, the acquisition of companies or assets in bankruptcy, out-of-court restructurings, bankruptcy litigation and lender liability. Mr. Jones frequently represents secured lender syndicates in oil and gas chapter 11 cases, and recently represented the agent and 20-member bank group in one of the nation's largest proceedings of an oil and gas company. In addition, he has represented a number of oil and gas exploration and production companies (both pub- licly traded and privately held) as debtors in chapter 11 proceedings. Mr. Jones has published on and frequently addresses industry groups and clients regarding restructuring and bankruptcies in the energy industry. He is admitted to the Texas bar, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth, Ninth and Tenth Circuits. Mr. Jones received his B.A. from the University of Houston and his  J.D. from Stanford University.
