John J. Rapisardi
John J. Rapisardi co-chairs O'Melveny & Myers LLP's Global Restructuring Practice in New York and has 30 years of domestic and international debtor and creditor restructuring experience across a vari- ety of industries. He specializes in leading large, complex financial restructurings, and his experience in advising debtors includes Olympia & York, Drexel Burham & Lambert, LyondellBassell and Caribbean Petroleum. He also advised the U.S. Treasury during the 2008 financial crisis as part of the Automotive Task Force, which dealt with the restructurings of General Motors, Chrysler and Delphi, among others. Mr. Rapisardi has been recognized in Chambers USA. He was a lead advisor to the Chinese government on a two-year pro bono project drafting a new Chinese bankruptcy law and co-authored a book on the subject of lender rights and remedies under that law. For the past 18 years, Mr. Rapisardi has been a regular bankruptcy columnist for the New York Law Journal, having authored more than 100 articles. He has also written and lectured extensively on the key aspects of the Brazilian bankruptcy law and its impact on U.S. investors. Mr. Rapisardi is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy. He received his B.A. in 1979 from Fordham University and his J.D. in 1982 from Pace University.
