Lawrence A. Katz

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Lawrence A. Katz</strong> is a partner at Hirschler Fleischer in its Tysons Corner, Va., office, where he focuses his practice on bankruptcy, workouts and commercial litigation. Over the course of the past 47 years, he has represented both debtors and creditors alike, in courtroom proceedings and boardroom negotiations. Among Mr. Katz’s debtor clients are business entrepreneurs, commercial enterprises, and real estate and hotel developers in chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganizations, liquidations and out-of-court restructurings. His creditor clients include lenders and unsecured creditors’ committees. As a complement to his work as a party advocate, Mr. Katz has been asked to serve as a chapter 11 trustee in corporate and individual bankruptcy cases, a liquidating trustee and plan administrator, a mediator and an expert witness. He is currently serving as a subchapter V trustee in Maryland, the District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Virginia. Mr. Katz received his B.A. <em>magna cum laude</em> from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.</p>
