Melvin S. Hoffman

Hon. Melvin S. Hoffman served on the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts from2010 until his retirement in 2021. Prior to joining the court, Judge Hoffman was a partner in the Boston law firm of Looney & Grossman LLP, where he concentrated his practice in insolvency and bankruptcy matters. Judge Hoffman graduated from Yeshiva University in 1972 and received his J.D. from SyracuseUniversity Law School in 1975, following which he clerked for Bankruptcy Judge Harold Lavien in Boston.
