Erika D. Hart

Erika D. Hart is an attorney with The Taunt Law Firm in Birmingham, Mich., where she specializes in insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings and litigation at the trial and appellate levels. She regularly represents trustees in chapter 7 matters, as well as debtors and creditors in chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases. Ms. Hart has litigated appeals from bankruptcy court to both the U.S. District Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also regularly handles nondischargeability proceedings. Ms. Hart is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification, and she is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Michigan, Consumer Bankruptcy Association, Women’s Lawyers Association of Michigan and ABI. She is admitted to practice in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Ms. Hart received her B.S. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from Wayne State University.
