Susan M. Cook
Susan M. Cook is a partner in the law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP in its Midland and South field, Mich., offices. She has more than 35 years of experience in the areas of bankruptcy, business reorganization, commercial litigation and business transactions. Ms. Cook has represented debtors and in a wide range of businesses, including hotels, hospitals, automotive suppliers, restaurants and retailers. In addition, she has represented numerous tier I and tier II suppliers in all of the major automotive bankruptcy proceedings. Ms. Cook served as special assistant attorney general for the Michigan Gaming<br>Control Board in the Greektown Casino cases and as special assistant attorney general for the State of<br>Michigan in the City of Detroit’s chapter 9 bankruptcy case. She has represented clients in bankruptcy courts across the country and is on the mediation panel for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Ms. Cook has spoken on numerous topics at many seminars in Michigan. She has consistently been named in The Best Lawyers in America and as a Super Lawyer since 2006, in which she was named one of the top 50 super lawyers in the State of Michigan. Ms. Cook was inducted as a<br>Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy in March 2015 and received the Federal Bar Association’s Barbara J. Rom Award for Excellence in Bankruptcy in 2016. She received her B.A. from Alma College in 1971 and her J.D. cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1979.
