Matthew A. Bruckner
Matthew A. Bruckner is an assistant professor of law at Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., where he teaches a variety of business and commercial law courses, includ- ing contracts and bankruptcy. He previously taught at St. John's University School of Law and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Prof. Bruckner's academic interests center on commercial bankruptcy issues, and his most recent work is focused on how to reduce the cost of professional representation in corporate bankruptcy cases. Previously, he was an attorney with Allen & Overy LLP in Washington, D.C., where his practice primarily focused on corporate bankruptcy, contract issues and general transactional matters. Prof. Bruckner next clerked for Hon. Allan L. Gropper of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, then taught corporate reorganiza- tions and advanced legal writing with a bankruptcy focus, among other topics, at St. John's Univer- sity School of Law, and spent a year as a visiting clinical professor at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Prof. Bruckner received his B.A. from Binghamton University and his J.D. from New York University School of of Law. Following graduation, he was the senior notes editor for the Journal of Law and Business.
