James V. Block

James V. Block is a partner at Krautkramer & Block LLC in Wausau, Wis., where his consumer bankruptcy practice includes representing individuals and small businesses in bankruptcy, foreclosure and collection actions. He also has served as a chapter 7 panel trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Western District of Wisconsin since 2012. Mr. Block was awarded a National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges Cornelius Blackshear Presidential Fellowship for 2017, and in 2023 he was honored as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40.” In addition, he is a Wisconsin State Bar Bankruptcy board member and was recently welcomed to the 2024 class of the Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, and he was the editor for ABI’s treatise The Best of ABI 2023: The Year in Consumer Bankruptcy. Mr. Block received his B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with comprehensive honors and his J.D. cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
