Ted A. Berkowitz is partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP in its Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights, Litigation and ADR Practice Groups in Garden City, N.Y. He also serves as general counsel to the firm. Prior to joining MHH, he served as an assistant attorney general for New York State, where he was one of the lead negotiators in the Weinstein mediation. He has represented the official creditors’ committees in some of the largest and highest-profile chapter 11 cases filed in the Eastern and Southern Districts of NewYork. Mr. Berkowitz has been appointed as both an examiner and chapter 11 operating trustee by<br>the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, and is a member of the official mediation panel for the bankruptcy courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He also served on the subcommittee that advised the Eastern District of New York Bankruptcy Court concerning the formulation of the new local bankruptcy rules. Mr. Berkowitz received his B.A. with<br>honors from State University of New York College at Oneonta and his J.D. cum laude from Boston<br>University School of Law, where he was a member of its law review and a Paul J. Liacos Scholar.
