Stephen S. Gray is a managing member of Gray & Company LLC in Boston, Mass., and has more than 38 years of experience developing and implementing restructuring and crisis management plans for public and private companies, general creditors, secured parties, acquirers of nonperforming companies and judicial bodies. He has led the successful operational and/or financial restructuring of hundreds of companies, and has worked as a trustee, receiver, crisis manager (CEO or CRO), turnaround consultant and restructuring advisor for a wide variety of companies. Mr. Gray is well known in the financial and legal communities throughout the U.S. for his work as a fiduciary and is skilled in financial and opera- tional restructuring and in all general areas of business, management and finance. In addition, he has managed the sale of many companies in a variety of industries. Previously, Mr. Gray was the founder and CEO of The Recovery Group, Inc. (TRG) in 1980, which merged with Corporate Revitalization Partners (CRP) in 2007 to form CRG Partners (CRG), where he served as senior managing partner. CRG was then acquired by Deloitte in 2012, and became the leader of Deloitte's Fiduciary Services Practice until he resigned in 2014 to form Gray & Company LLC. He also served as vice president for Exeter Management Corp., a consulting firm for distressed businesses, and as a member of the corporate development staff at Arthur D. Little, Inc. Mr. Gray is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and a member of ABI, the Turnaround Management Association and the International Insolvency Institute and he is a regular speaker at restructuring and insolvency conferences. Additionally, he was named one of Turnarounds & Workouts' 2008 "People to Watch." Mr. Gray receved his bachelor's degree in engineering science from George Washington University and was a master's level teaching fellow in mechanical engineering at Tufts University.
