Thomas J. Raftery
Thomas J. Raftery is an attorney with the Law Office of Thomas J. Raftery in Boston, where he concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, insolvency, commercial and secured lending law. He has rep- resented secured lenders, trustees in both chapter 7 and 11 cases, creditors' committees, debtors and investors seeking to acquire assets or businesses in bankruptcy. He has also been a bankruptcy trustee and examiner in chapter 7 and 11 cases in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and has appeared in the bankruptcy courts of New York and Delaware. Mr. Raftery is a member of the Massachusetts bar, U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts, U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Cir- cuit, New Hampshire bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. He is a member of the American Bar Association, ABI, the Boston Bar Association and the New Hampshire Bar Asso- ciation. Mr. Raftery served in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy, and attended the Naval War College in Newport, R.I., and summer school at Oxford. He is a frequent speaker and has guest-lectured at the Massachusetts School of Law on chapter 11 cases. Mr. Raftery received his B.A. in 1967 from the Uni- versity of Massachusetts and his J.D. magna cum laude from Suffolk University in 1974.
