William A. Ensing

William A. Ensing is a managing attorney with Ensing Law Firm, Ltd. in Lake Forest, Ill., where he concentrates in structuring sophisticated, integrated and comprehensive estate, wealth-protection and business-succession plans. In the late 1980s, he began forming offshore captive insurance companies in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda for physicians and health care professionals, establishing a foun- dation for aggressively protecting the wealth and assets of clients using structures including offshore elements. Mr. Ensing has authored numerous articles that have appeared in such publications as The Business Journal, the Asset Protection Journal and the American Bar Association Compendium on Asset Protection Planning, as well as other regional periodicals and planning publications. He has also been quoted on the topic of integrated estate and asset-protection planning in such publications as Bloom- berg Wealth Management. Mr. Ensing is a two-time past chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Asset Protection Committee and is a member of WealthCounsel, the Chicago and American Bar Associations, the Offshore Institute, the Sovereign Society, the Society of Trust Practitioners and numerous regional bar associations and planning councils. He lectures extensively across the United States and abroad on wealth-protection planning for bar associations, medical conferences, financial planning councils, trust companies, accountants, bankers, law firms, physicians, hospitals and pilots' groups. Mr. Ensing received his B.A in economics with honors from Lake Forest College and his J.D. with honors in 1985 from Chicago Kent College of Law.
