Stacey L. Janssen

Stacey L. Janssen is Of Counsel with Dysart Taylor Cotter McMonigle & Montemore, P.C. in Kansas City, Mo., where her practice focuses primarily on elder law. She provides guidance for her clients on issues regarding Medicaid, estate planning, guardianship and conservatorship, Social Security disability, patients' and residents' rights, and special needs planning. Previously, Ms. Janssen served as a project at- torney and volunteer attorney coordinator for the Kansas Elder Law Hotline, where she was responsible for the recruitment, supervision and training of 150 private volunteer attorneys, as well as providing legal advice to more than 3,000 elderly Kansans and their families. She also served as a project attorney for Kansas Legal Services for Older Adults, where she provided legal advice and represented persons age 60 or older in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties of Kansas in the areas of Medicaid, division of as- sets, Medicare, advanced directives, patients' and resident's rights, Social Security, domestic relations/ violence and landlord/tenant law. Ms. Janssen was awarded the Kansas Bar Association's Outstanding Service Award in 2008 and has been listed in Super Lawyers every year since 2013. She received her  B.A. in 1985 from the University of Kansas and her J.D. in 1988 from the University of Kansas School of Law.
