Shai Y. Waisman is CEO of Prime Clerk in New York, which provides claims and noticing agent and related services. Prior to founding Prime Clerk, he was a partner in the Business Finance & Restructuring department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he led many large and complicated restructurings, including Lehman Brothers, American Air- lines, Global Crossing, WorldComm, Loral Space & Communications and Steve & Barry's. During his tenure at Weil, he was appointed to several leadership roles, including the firm's Investment, Hiring, Technology, Partner Meeting and Summer Program Committees. Mr. Waisman has written and spoken extensively on the subject of the acquisition and sale of assets of distressed companies, the development of American bankruptcy law and current issues in the reorganization practice. Most recently, he was co- editor and author of The Law and Practice of Restructuring in the UK and US (Oxford University Press, 2011). Mr. Waisman has been listed as a "Leading Lawyer" for Bankruptcy/ Restructuring in New York Chambers USA 2010, as a "Rising Star" for bankruptcy by Law360 in 2010, as a national finalist for the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America Lawdragon 2010, as one of New York's "40 under 40" in the business community by Crain's in 2009 and as an "Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer" by Turnarounds & Workouts in 2006, among other accolades. He graduated from The American University and received his J.D. cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was an articles editor of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal and a research and teaching assistant for Frank  J. Macchiarola, dean of the law school and the former chancellor of the New York City Department of Education, and Professor G. Oliver Koppell, the former attorney general of the State of New York.
