Roy M. Terry, Jr.

Roy M. Terry is a member of Sands Anderson PC's Business Group and its Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights team in Richmond, Va., where he focuses his practice on representing both businesses and indi- viduals as debtors and creditors under all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code. He also serves as chapter 7 panel trustee of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in Richmond. For more than 30 years, Mr. Terry has regularly served as counsel to chapter 11 debtors in possession and to indi- viduals with business associations who must seek bankruptcy relief. He also has experience represent- ing creditors and creditors' committees, including such representations in large chapter 11 cases and in serving as a judicially appointed receiver. Mr. Terry has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America and as one of Virginia Business magazine's "Legal Elite in Bankruptcy/Creditors Rights." He has also been named in Super Lawyers in the area of Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights since 2006. Mr. Terry re- ceived his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law, where he was a member of its Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Book Award for Bankruptcy. He also attended Bath University in England.
