Michael R. McCormick

Michael R. McCormick is a shareholder with Montgomery Little & Soran, PC in Greenwood Village,Colo., where he defends professionals including attorneys, appraisers and real estate brokers against professional liability, malpractice and disciplinary actions. He also practices real estate litigation and represents landowners in eminent domain cases against governmental entities such as CDOT and RTD.Mr. McCormick litigates cases relating to businesses, contracts, torts and employment matters. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Professional Liability Committee and the CBA’s EminentDomain Committee, and is an affiliate member of the Colorado Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He also is a former co-editor of the CBA Eminent Domain Committee Newsletter and has served as faculty multiple times at the annual Colorado Eminent Domain Continuing Legal Education Conference.Mr. McCormick is admitted to practice in Colorado, Wyoming, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He formerly worked as an assistant attorney general at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, where he represented the Colorado Department of Transportation. In addition, he served on the CDOT Legislative Review Executive Committee and as counsel for the Colorado Tolling Enterprise. Mr. McCormick graduated seventh in his class from the University of Denver College of Law, during which time he was a Chancellor’s Scholar and was awarded the Order of Saint Ives and three Academic Excellence Awards.
