Michael Patterson

Michael F. Patterson is a partner with Spencer Fane LLP in Phoenix and helps businesses navigate corporate, compliance and securities matters. He has extensive experience in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, equity and debt offerings, foreign direct investment, distribution, agency and licensing matters, and market entry strategies. He also regularly advises U.S. and foreign clients in connection with the establishment, structuring and compliance for international operations, including the establishment of international distribution networks. Mr. Patter-son spent a decade living and working in Central America, and he reads, writes, speaks and negotiates inSpanish. He also has done legal work for clients in Canada, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, LatinAmerica and the Caribbean. Mr. Patterson has been listed in the 2019-23 editions of The Best Lawyers inAmerica and has been involved with the Governor’s Arizona-Mexico Commission and the Governor’sSolar Energy Advisory Task Force. He received his B.A. summa cum laude in 1984 from Arizona StateUniversity and his J.D. cum laude in 1995 from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
