Michael P. Brundage is a partner in the Tampa, Fla., office of Phelps Dunbar LLP and has repre- sented clients for more than 25 years in the areas of business bankruptcy, creditors' rights litiga- tion (including mortgage foreclosures, receiverships, replevins and proceedings supplementary), commercial litigation (including lender-liability litigation, noncompete litigation and partnership/ shareholder disputes) and real property litigation. He represents financial institutions, asset-based lenders, debt-buyers, private lenders, private and public companies, and other creditors, as well as debtors, trustees, official committees and other commercial litigants in bankruptcy, state and federal courts throughout the State of Florida and the Southeastern United States. He also frequently con- sults with and represents parties (lenders and borrowers) in connection with lending and financing transactions. Mr. Brundage is widely recognized as an expert in the areas of business reorganiza- tions, insolvency-related matters, creditors' rights litigation, commercial litigation, loan workouts and lending and financing transactions. He has been board certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification since 2004. Mr. Brundage is rated AV-Preeminent by Mar- tindale-Hubbell and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law, as well as Litigation - Bankruptcy, and is featured in Florida Super Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Tax Court. Mr. Brundage received his B.S. in finance with honors from Florida State University in 1981 and his J.D. cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in 1986, where he was editor-in-chief of the Stetson Law Review.
