Melissa Suzanne Byrd

Melissa Byrd is corporate counsel in the Bankruptcy Department of the Warren, Mich., office of Midland Credit Management, Inc., a subsidiary of Encore Capital Group. She has extensive ex- perience in consumer bankruptcy matters from several different perspectives, having worked as a shared law clerk in the Eastern District of Michigan, a federal law clerk for Hon. Walter Shapero, a creditors' attorney at several law firms including Dykema Gosset PLLC and Trott Law, PC, and now as in-house counsel. Ms. Byrd was listed as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan –Dearborn and her J.D. cum laude from Ave Maria School of Law.
