Mark R. Weinsten
Mark Weinsten is a senior managing director at FTI Consulting in Boston,where he co-leads the firm's Private Capital initiative and is part of the leadership team for the Consumer Products and Retail offer- ing and the Business Improvement & Growth practice. He has more than 20 years of experience provid- ing a comprehensive array of services. Mr. Weinsten has assisted boards of directors, equity sponsors and management of distressed, underperforming and transitioning companies. He specializes in serving in interim executive positions, including as CEO, CRO and CEO. Mr Weinsten just finished serving as CRO of American Apparel and recently served as CEO of Manischewitz after its acquisition by Sankaty Advisors in April 2014. Other clients include LodgeNet; CIT, which was named Turnaround Manage- ment Association's Turnaround of the Year; Sirius Satellite Radio; Stone and Webster; Airborne Health; Andrew Marc; Polartec; Delphi, IDD Turnaround of the Year; Enterasys, formerly Cabletron; Sands Ho- tel and Casino; Bush Industries; Filenes Basement and Sportsman's Warehouse, one of Turnarounds & Restructurings magazine's most successful restructurings. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Weinsten was a partner with the U.S. division of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Business Recovery Services practice. After graduating from business school, Mr. Weinsten joined the Management Consulting department of Grant Thornton, where he focused on business planning and raising capital for middle-market com- panies, as well as representing large multinational corporations in responding to antidumping charges raised by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Before obtaining his M.B.A., he worked in the engineering and operations groups for Winfield Manufacturing, a major supplier of uniforms, chemical protective suits and equipage items to the U.S. military and NATO. Mr. Weinsten holds an M.B.A. from the Whar- ton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in economics from Carnegie-Mellon University.
