Marjorie O. Rendell
Hon. Marjorie O. Rendell is a U.S. Court of Appeals Judge for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia, appointed in November 1997 and taking senior status on July 1, 2015. She previously was a District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, appointed in March 1994. Prior to her judicial appointments, Judge Rendell practiced with the law firm of Duane, Morris & Heckscher, where she specialized in bankruptcy and commercial litigation, and subsequently became the firm’s second female partner. She is co-chair of the Courts and Community Committee of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and is chairman of the board of the Rendell Center for Civics and Civics Engagement, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation. Judge Rendell received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.
