Lorie A. Ball is an attorney in the Restructuring and Business Bankruptcy Group in the Century City, Calif., office of Robins Kaplan LLP. She represents clients across the insolvency and restruc- turing spectrum, including corporate debtors, creditors, committees, trustees, equity-holders and purchasers of distressed assets. Ms. Ball has had significant roles in bankruptcy cases of national prominence, including representing the official committee of student creditors in the Corinthian Colleges bankruptcy cases and the post-confirmation CCI Student Creditors Trust, as well as the general unsecured creditors' committee in the PG&E bankruptcy case. She also represents mid- market companies in chapter 11, including the debtor representations of Sexy Hair, LLC (a hair- care product line), entities owning commercial building and hotel assets in the New York, Pasadena and Hollywood markets, and the trustee of the creditor trust for the bankruptcy estate involving the Terminator movie franchise. In addition to traditional bankruptcy roles, Ms. Ball has experi- ence in out-of-court financial restructuring matters, including corporate governance disputes, loan workouts for real estate concerns, and the sale of a prominent women's basketball team. Prior to joining Robins Kaplan, she was an attorney with Peitzman Weg LLP. Ms. Ball is on the board of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum and the advisory board for ABI's Bankruptcy Battleground West program. She received her B.A. in 1996 from Loyola University Los Angeles and her J.D. in 2007 from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
