Julie M. Hertzberg

Julie M. Hertzberg is a managing director with Alvarez & Marsal in Southfield, Mich., and head of its Claims Management Services Group, where she specializes in complex bankruptcy case prepara- tion and administration. She also sits on the executive committee for its North American Restructuring Practice. Ms. Hertzberg has more than 16 years of restructuring experience and has advised on numer- ous chapter 11 proceedings in the context of pre-bankruptcy preparation, case administration, claims management and post-confirmation requirements. Under her direction, her team has been involved in hundreds of chapter 11 bankruptcy matters. Her notable consulting assignments include Lehman Broth- ers, SandRidge Energy, Seventy Seven Energy, Penn Virginia, Magnum Hunter Resources, Breitburn Energy, Swift Energy, Southcross, NII, Quiznos, MModal, Exide, A123, Arcapita, Blockbuster, Furni-         ture Brands, GT Advanced Technology, LightSquared, Energy Future Holdings, Hawker Beechcraft, EveryWare Global, Global Geophysical Services, Hercules Offshore, Alpha Natural Resources, Patriot Coal, Citadel Broadcasting, Visteon Corp., Lear Corp., Cooper Standard Automotive, The Chicago Tri- bune, SIRVA, Vertis and Aleris International. Ms. Hertzberg is active in a number of industry organiza- tions, including the executive committee for INSOL International (INSOL) and ABI. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
