Joseph A. Baldi
Joseph A. Baldi is the principal shareholder of the Chicago bankruptcy boutique firm of Baldi Berg & Wallace, Ltd. (formerly Joseph A. Baldi & Associates, P.C.). Prior to establishing his own law firm, he was a partner in the Chicago law firms of Schwartz & Freeman and Rosenthal and Schan- field, P.C., where he was the Practice Group chair of its Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors' Rights Practice Group. He also spent five years as a staff attorney with the Office of the U.S. Trust- ee. Mr. Baldi's experience includes the representation of creditors, debtors and bankruptcy trustees, and he has represented a variety of lenders, including banks, life insurance companies and other secured creditors in bankruptcy courts throughout the country in chapter 7 and chapter 11 cases. He has been involved in cases for real estate partnerships, restaurants, software vendors, trucking companies, construction firms and gas production facilities. He has also represented a number of individual debtors in chapter 11 cases. Mr. Baldi has been a chapter 7 trustee for nearly 30 years and has liquidated a broad range of business entities, including law firms, real estate ventures, steel and aluminum companies, retail firms and construction companies. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is admitted to practice before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and many federal bankruptcy courts in the Midwest. Mr. Baldi is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Na- tional Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and ABI, for which he is a frequent lecturer on a variety of bankruptcy topics. He received his B.A. in psychology from Western Illinois University and his J.D. cum laude from DePaul University College of Law.
