Jonathan E. Aberman is a Partner at Troutman Pepper Locke LLP in Chicago and is a member of its creditors' rights, bankruptcy and restructuring practice group. Jon primarily represents Lenders, CMBS special servicers, and various secured and unsecured creditors in complex loan and workout scenarios. Known for his creative, yet pragmatic, approach, Jon works to enforce loan rights, protect assets, and maximize recoveries. Jon's has over 25 years of experience navigating everything in the distressed marketplace, including Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, out-of-court loan workouts and restructurings, mortgage foreclosures and receiverships, lease disputes and loan enforcement litigation. Jon’s creditors’ rights and loan enforcement experience spans many sectors, including retail shopping centers and strip malls, hotels, office buildings, and health care facilities. His work includes handling debtor-in-possession financing, cash collateral disputes, and creditor claims.
