Jonathan C. Hickman
Jonathan Hickman is a managing director with Alvarez & Marsal in Charlotte, N.C., and serves as cohead of the firm’s North American Commercial Restructuring (NACR) practice for the Southern Region. He specializes in advising companies and senior lenders in distressed situations. Mr. Hickman’s areas of concentration include the development and evaluation of strategic business plans, treasury and liquidity management, operational restructuring and bankruptcy filing preparation. With more than 25 years of management and corporate restructuring experience, he has advised numerous clients in both financial advisory and interim-management roles, including acting as CEO, CRO and COO. He has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, including distribution, manufacturing, automotive, retail, E&P, oilfield services, mining, financial services and construction. Mr. Hickman most recently served as CRO of GT Real Estate Holdings, leading the real estate holding company through a successful chapter 11 process. Prior to that, he served as financial advisor to Belk, Inc., advising this retailer through its successful pre-packaged bankruptcy; as CRO of a global manufacturer of heat transfer equipment, assisting the company through a successful out-of-court restructuring; and as CRO of GST AutoLeather, leading the global automotive supplier through a successful chapter 11 sale process. Mr. Hickman is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and has served on the board of the Carolinas Chapter of the TMA and on the board of directors of the Central Piedmont Community College Foundation. He recveived his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University.
