David N. Crapo
David N. Crapo is Of Counsel to Gibbons P.C. in Newark, N.J., in its Financial Restructuring andCreditors’ Rights Department and its Health Care Team. He has represented secured and unsecured creditors, debtors, trustees, landlords and equipment lessors. Before joining Gibbons P.C., Mr. Crapo represented the Internal Revenue Service in bankruptcy matters as a trial attorney with the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He has written on various bankruptcy, health care and privacy law is-sues, including most recently articles on the COVID-19-related guidance issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as well as other regulatory challenges impacting health care bankruptcies. Mr. Crapo has lectured at bankruptcy, health care and privacy law programs sponsored by the EssexCounty Bar Association, the Bankruptcy Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Lawline, the Law Education Institute, ABI and the American Bar Association. He is a member of the AmericanBar Association (and its Business and Health Law Sections), the New Jersey Bar Association (and itsBankruptcy and Health Law sections), ABI and its Health Care Committee, and the American HealthLaw Association, the International Association of Privacy Professionals and the New Jersey BankruptcyLawyers’ Foundation. He has served as the Patient Care Ombudsman in several bankruptcy cases and is currently serving in that role in the American Addiction Centers bankruptcy. He holds a Certified Inter-national Privacy Professional—US designation. Mr. Crapo received his LL.M. in Health Law & Policy from Seton Hall University.
