Daniel A. Staeven
Daniel Staeven is a director at Frost Law in Annapolis, Md., and works with distressed individuals and businesses. His insolvency-based bankruptcy practice focuses on workouts, restructuring, negotiations and bankruptcy for consumers and entities. He also works on real estate transactions representing the buyer or banking institution in property transactions or properties in distress. Mr. Staeven’s practice has intersected many times in federal tax and state tax areas, which has enabled him to manage clients’ student loan matters and help them receive forgiveness on their student loans. He regularly files bankruptcy cases for individuals to work with tax debt, and he has been on the cutting edge of the new small business bankruptcy law practice. Mr. Staeven has filed many subchapter V cases in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, several of which have been confirmed as consensual plans. He is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia and the district of Columbia, and before the U.S. District Courts for theDistrict of Maryland, District of Columbia, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. Mr. Staeven is a member of ABI, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and American Bar Associations, as well as the Greenbelt Chapter of the Maryland Bankruptcy Bar Association. He received his B.S. in business management magna cum laude in 2001 from Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. from the University of Maryland School ofLaw, where he served as associate articles editor of the Business Law Review.
