Courtney McCormick
Courtney A. McCormick is a senior associate with McGuireWoods LLP in Jacksonville, Fla., where she focuses her practice on bankruptcy, financial restructuring, distressed-asset acquisitions, creditors’ rights, consumer financial litigation, arbitration, commercial litigation and appeals. Her emphasis has been in the representation of financial institutions and other institutional lenders. In addition, she has defended multiple defendants in class action and single-plaintiff lawsuits brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act and comparable state consumer protection laws. Prior to joining McGuireWoods, she clerked for three years for Hon. Chief Judge Lewis M. Killian, Jr. and Hon. Chief Judge Karen K. Specie of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Florida. Ms. McCormick has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in<br>Florida Super Lawyers (2017-18) as well as an “Up and Comer” in Florida Legal Elite (2016-18).
