Benjamin I. Finestone is a partner in the New York office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP and co-head of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group. He is ranked as a leading New York Bankruptcy/ Restructuring individual by Chambers USA (2013-24), named a Litigation Star and a National Practice Area Star [Bankruptcy] by Benchmark Litigation (2022-24), named a Leading Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyer (esp. Litigation) and a Leading Litigator by Lawdragon (2022-25), and listed as a “Leading Lawyer” by Legal 500 (2023-24). In addition, he has been repeatedly recognized in Law.com’s “Litigator of the Week” publication, including for trial victories against Citibank and concerning Sanchez Energy, BYJU’s Alpha and Alta Mesa Resources. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Finestone was a Certified Public Accountant and a NASD Registered Representative in equity trading. He received his B.B.A. in 1997 from the University of Michigan and his J.D. in 2004 from New York University School of Law, where he was a Galgay Fallow, a Robert McKay Scholar and a staff editor of the Journal of International Law & Politics.
