Barry Cahir

Barry Cahir is a Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring partner with Beauchamps LLP in Dublin. He has significant Irish and cross-border experience and is a highly regarded practitioner. Mr. Cahir represents stakeholders and officeholders in a wide range of contentious and noncontentious insolvency and debt-restructuring cases. He has been a member of the Council of INSOL Europe since 2016 and was named its president in October 2022. Mr. Cahir has been a Fellow of INSOL International since 2016 and is its only Fellow in Ireland. He contributes to the Irish Chapter of the Restructuring Review, 15th Edition. Mr. Cahir was appointed by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation to be a member of the Company Law Review Group on behalf of The Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners. He is a past chairman of the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners, a member of the UK Insolvency Lawyers Association and the Asset Based Finance Association, a Fellow of INSOL International and a council member of INSOL Europe, and a member of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association and the Law Society of Ireland. He was named a Financial and Corporate leading lawyer in IFLR 1000 in 2016 and in The Best Lawyers in Ireland in 2018. Mr. Cahir received his Bachelor of Civil Law from University College Dublin in 1995 and received his solicitor designation by the Law Society of Ireland in 1998. He also completed an INSOL International Global Insolvency Practice Course from 2015-16.
